History of the Waverly Hills Sanitarium
The Waverly Hills Sanitarium was a tuberculosis sanitarium which opened up in March 1924, during the tuberculosis outbreak that befell the U.S.A. known as 'The White Plague'. Many grisly experiments were conducted on the patients at the Waverly Hills Sanitarium. In the end, more than 6,000 people died there. The Sanitarium closed in June 1961 when a cure for tuberculosis was discovered. Today, the Waverly Hills Sanitarium is known as one of the most haunted places on earth. Haunted house tours are still done there also.
